Description of the park
Introduction
VTP Hub Brno and Ostrava have been operating in the Czech Republic since 2011 (run by RegioHub) as a cooperation of closely linked companies. They offer various services to innovation companies, startups and creative individuals mainly from the fields of Digital Economy, Social Business, Creative Industries an IT.
Description of technology transfer
1, XTND is a company based in VTP Hub Ostrava. XTND were the first ones in the world to develop an ultra light carbon skateboard. They worked closely with the Czech Technical University to develop some key parts of the skateboard. XTND products helped do develop sustainable transport systems and introduce electro mobile devices into daily life.
2, Mathesio is an IT company, developing back office SW, 3D visualisations and animations. It was created as a spin-off at FIT VUT Brno and is currently based at Impact Hub Brno. Mathesio uses its own R&D findings, namely process simulation using BPMS (closely linked to the university through it founder) for commercial use.
Innovative entrepreneurship training
We run acceleration programmes throughout the whole year. They help participants to find the right track in order to further develop their project and businesses. We offer mentorship and investment opportunities as well.

After more than 1 year since opening of VTP Hub Brno and Ostrava it is clear that there is substantial experience with innovation infrastructure management especially with professional services to members and companies seated in all three VTP Impact Hubs. Most services focus on starting an innovative business operation in IT, Creative Industries, Social Business, Digital Economy and other bordering fields. Innovation strategy focuses on creating opportunities for innovations to emerge and further develop. Tools used include consulting, financial and other support for SMEs and freelancers and creating intelligent local and international information networks. The basic aim is to support creation of tech companies and intensify cooperation between universities and application sphere.
Main national network players work with large companies and international players. They then serve as points of contact for smaller companies based in VTP HUB Brno and Ostrava. Acceleration programmes, workshops offered at VTP Hubs further support innovation potencial and knowledge transfer among members and companies based at VTP Hubs.Cooperation with universities
New projects often originate in the academic field. They are ideas of university alumni or reasearchers that work closely with local research institutions. Many projects follow up on research efforts of universities and research institutions. Business ideas are often further developed in cooperation with these two groups. An example are innovation vouchers. Academic experts often participate in acceleration programs. Besides the personal involvement, also spin-offs, idea/technology tranfers or R&D applications occur.
